SBRI  FAST – Automated Staff Deployment of pharmacy staff in a hospital setting.

A new Medicines Optimisation Automated Staff Deployment Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) competition has been launched by the Department of Health (DoH) and Department for Economy (DfE) in Northern Ireland.  The competition is seeking to source new innovative technology solutions to enable the appropriate deployment of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within secondary care, ensuring that the requisite number of staff with the requisite skill sets would be available to help patients gain optimal outcomes from their medicines.  Projects will be selected on their potential to effectively and quickly deploy acute hospital pharmacy staff to address the needs of patients in secondary care.

This competition will close for applications at 15:00 on 9 November 2016.  There is total funding available of up to £141,000, with bids up to a maximum of £47,000 (excluding VAT) per project for a Phase 1 technical feasibility study. To access the documents associated with this competition and to apply you should be registered at eTendersNI.gov.uk

The competition is available to view and download on the “etendersni” website https://etendersni.gov.uk.  Before gaining access to a tender opportunity, suppliers will be required to register  on the “etendersni” site.  To support this, there is a link ‘registration process walkthrough’ on the home page.

SBRI competitions are open to all organisations that can demonstrate a route to market for their solution.  For more information about the SBRI Programme, visit: https://sbri.innovateuk.org
